    Marine Engineer

    Competitive Industry Salary & Benefits Package

    Braemar’s Technical division offers a broad range of complementary adjusting, surveying, engineering, environmental and consultancy services to the marine, offshore, energy, shipping and insurance sectors. We are now looking for a Marine Engineer to join our team of 10 Marine Engineers, Master Mariners and Naval Architects based in our offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE.

    The right candidate will carry out various warranty and casualty surveys on ocean going vessels, offshore vessels, barges, jack up rigs, other mobile offshore structures and port infrastructure.

    The successful candidate will have exciting opportunities to travel within our operational areas; around the Arabian Gulf, the Indian Sub-Continent, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Egypt, Sudan and East Africa, down to Kenya.  Given the fast-moving nature of our business, travel may be at very short notice over weekends, public holiday and nights.

    Applicants should have a proven career as a Marine Engineer with a minimum qualification of a 1st Class Certificate of Competency, preferably with Chartered Engineer status or a Mechanical or Marine Engineering Bachelor’s Degree. Previous experience as a Shipyard Repair Manager or Owners’/ Managers’ Superintendent Engineer or Technical Manager is highly advantageous to your application.

    A positive, ‘can do’ attitude and team player mentality are essential. Professional and flexible, you must have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. You must also possess an excellent telephone manner and great attention to detail.

    Principal Surveyor – Hong Kong

    The right candidate will carry out the general duties of inspection as required, as well as surveys and examinations of merchant vessels to assess, monitor and report on their condition as well as various warranty and casualty surveys on ocean going vessels, offshore vessels, barges, jack up rigs, other mobile offshore structures and port infrastructure.

    Engineer – Entry Level

    Braemar’s Technical division offers a broad range of complementary adjusting, surveying, engineering, environmental and consultancy services to the marine, offshore, energy, shipping and insurance sectors. We are now looking for an Entry Level Engineer to join our team in Houston.

    This is an exciting opportunity for you to work alongside and learn from senior loss adjusting personnel in the energy, petrochemical, power and utilities, renewables, mining and heavy industry insurance market.

    The right candidate will assist in incident investigation, site attendance/surveys, document auditing, case management and administration, preparation of reports and presentations, and conducting insurance policy reviews.

    Although based in Houston and supporting the US files, you will also have the opportunity to assist our business in Latin America.

    To be successful in this role, you will have a desire to develop professionally and will be supported to undertake relevant insurance qualifications and other training with the aim of acquiring the necessary skills to progress to a Senior Adjuster level.

    The successful candidate will be focused with outstanding attention to detail, able to work independently as well as part of a close team. You will actively seek new knowledge related to engineering practices, principles and regulations. You should be able to apply engineering principles and concepts to projects to solve problems.

    This position requires between 0-5 years’ experience in oil and gas and/or petrochemical and/or renewables and/or power generation and/or heavy industry. A knowledge of insurance is beneficial but not essential. Spanish proficiency would be highly advantageous to your application.

    Candidates are expected to have a bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
